Terms of Service

1. Introduction and Acceptance

Welcome to Short-it. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Short-it website, services, and applications (collectively, the "Service"). The Service is owned and operated by Yuugengaisha Familiye ("we", "our", "us"), a company registered in Japan.

By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to all of these Terms, you may not access or use the Service.

2. Service Description

Short-it provides URL shortening services, analytics tracking for shortened links, and QR code generation. Users can manage multiple links and track metrics including click counts, geographic location data, browser information, and other analytics.

The scope and features of the Service may be limited based on your subscription plan. Free accounts may have limitations on the number of links that can be created and the number of times links can be edited.

3. User Accounts

3.1 Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years of age to access or use the Service. By accessing or using the Service, you represent and warrant that you are at least 13 years old.

3.2 Account Security

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You agree to immediately notify us of any unauthorized use of your account or any other breach of security. You should not share passwords, personal information, or unique identifiers with others.

3.3 Account Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at our sole discretion, without notice, for conduct that we determine violates these Terms or is otherwise harmful to the Service, other users, or third parties, or for any other reason. This includes, but is not limited to, using automation to mass generate links without a paid plan, engaging in malicious activities such as DDOS attacks against our service, or using the Service to distribute prohibited content.

4. Prohibited Content and Conduct

You agree not to use the Service to shorten links to content that:

  • Is illegal under the laws of Japan
  • Contains malware, viruses, or other malicious code
  • Promotes spam or scam activities
  • Contains bullying, harassing, or discriminatory content
  • Infringes on the intellectual property rights of others

We reserve the right to remove any links that we determine, in our sole discretion, violate these Terms or are otherwise harmful to our Service, users, or third parties.

5. Intellectual Property Rights

The Service and its original content, features, and functionality are and will remain the exclusive property of Yuugengaisha Familiye and its licensors. The Service is protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws of both Japan and foreign countries.

Users retain the right to access and manage their own shortened links and analytics data through their user account, subject to these Terms.

6. Disclaimers and Limitations of Liability

6.1 Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT.

6.2 Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL YUUGENGAISHA FAMILIYE, ITS AFFILIATES, OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, OR AGENTS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, PUNITIVE, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF OR IN ANY WAY CONNECTED WITH THE USE OF THE SERVICE.

6.3 User Responsibility

You, not Yuugengaisha Familiye, are entirely responsible for all content that you shorten, share, or access through the Service. We do not control the content accessible via shortened links and assume no responsibility for it. You acknowledge and assume all risks associated with your use of any shortened links.

7. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Japan, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in Japan.

8. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. If we make material changes to these Terms, we will notify registered users by email. Your continued use of the Service after any such changes constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms.

9. Account Cancellation and Service Termination

You may cancel your subscription at any time by downgrading to the free plan through our payment processor, Stripe. You may delete your account through the dashboard settings.

We reserve the right to terminate or suspend access to our Service immediately, without prior notice or liability, for any reason whatsoever, including, but not limited to, a breach of the Terms.
